Let me tell you, making an appointment with Dr. MacIver was the best decision I have made in a long time!
He took the time to discuss not only my history, but what my current chiropractic needs were. He explained his process and gave me a clearer understanding of what his practice is, what options I had for treatment, and the difference between getting into the habit of listening to my body and being proactive about the healing process vs not being aware of how I'm feeling and only reacting to my symptoms.
I left this visit feeling a significant amount of my long term pain alleviated and I am shocked at just how long I have allowed myself to suffer in silence with it daily.

"I was always afraid to try working with a chiropractor. But having lived with neck/shoulder pain since middle school, I recently decided I'd had enough. Sometimes that kind of pain can be related back to posture and alignment issues.
Right away I could tell Dr. MacIver was special. He's gentle, has a healer's hands, and you can tell he really cares. The fact that he uses the Activator tool was what sold me on trying chiropractic after all. The Activator helps with spots that are particularly tender and helped me adjust--pun not quite intended--to manual adjustments.
I'm blind, my partner has cerebral palsy, and we find Dr. MacIver's knowledge of disabilities to be quite refreshing. He describes to me what he's going to do before he begins, and he helps me without over-helping. In my partner's case, knowing how CP can affect one's physicality can only enhance the quality of treatment.
Dr. MacIver also takes a therapeutic approach, so I wasn't surprised to find out he had some PT background. He teaches (my partner) and me exercises to help maintain strength and also explains the cause/effect relationships between how we move, how it makes us feel, and how we can move and feel better."

"It's great to have an amazing doc that knows how to use the Activator. He has the magical hands that can do wonders. Many chiros use the tool, but if they're not trained on full Activator protocol, they wouldn't hit the right angles to be effective or at the right amount of pressure.
Aside from knowing how to adjust manually, he also knows how to use the tool well. If you never seen a chiro before, this is the one to see. If you have and didn't have good results, try Dr. MacIver.
After having 30+ chiros in the past 7+ years, both (with franchises) and private offices, not many know every other trick to adjust well. When you have a difficult body to work with, it's a challenge for many pros.
He's good with kids and adults. Quite knowledgeable in more than one topic. If he doesn't know something, he will tell you straight up. If he knows what to refer you to, he will."

"This was my first visit to a chiropractor and it was a great experience. Dr. MacIver explained the process thoroughly, addressed my concerns, and answered all the questions I had. "I have had insufferable migraines since 2014. I have seen orthopedic surgeons/specialist, neurologist, GP, 1 chiropractor (thats a story on its own). I have had MRI, CAT and PET scans, x-rays, medications (relpax, immitrex, triptans, beta blockers, stuff to spray up my nose, drinks, even tried botox). Nothing worked. Emergency rooms didn't help take the pain that would bring you to the brink of suicidal idealations. I looked at The Joint because I have seen other talk about it and looked into Dr. MacIver's "about me" on this site. He is also a migraine suffer. As apprehensive as I was, today I ended up calling to make my first patient appointment because I was starting to develop a migraine. I cried all the way down to his office.. Not 5 minutes into the adjustment...and just like that... he made it go away.. 6 years of suffering between 3-7 days bed ridden and no specialist could do anything for me.. and this amazing doctor, made it go away. Overwhelmed with so many emotions, I cried on the table. I am extremely grateful for what he has given back to me. Migraine suffers? Suffer no more!!! This is the guy to go see.!"

"Went in with severe shoulder/back pain. Ended up with Migraine relief as well! Dr. MacIver is true miracle worker. He truly cares about his patients. I walked in crying thinking I may need to go to the ER with a migraine and he was able to provide enough relief that I was able to avoid the hospital. I can’t thank him enough. "After putting it off for years, I sought treatment here for chronic pain and migraines I've had since I was a small child. Dr. MacIver and his team has helped change my quality of life in a matter of weeks. The process is quick, and they see a large amount of patients, but you are given the upmost attention and care. The only thing I would change is privacy. It's not a big deal but it's an open space, and I'm not quiet when I'm adjusted. Ha! I just hate having an audience."

"Today was my 14 y/o daughters’s first appointment for back pain. (The receptionist) was great, getting her worked in on the very same day I called. I was nervous, since it was her first time with this doctor. But after reading all the great reviews, I decided to take her. My daughter loved Dr. Maclver. He was wonderful with her, and he made her feel at ease throughout the entire visit and treatment. I’m so pleased, because tonight was the first night in weeks that she hasn’t complained of her back hurting. She said his treatment and adjustment helped her back so much. So she will now continue to go as per the doctor’s instructions. My husband has had back pain for years, and I have had chronic neck problems for years, along with two surgeries, and other invasive procedures I’ve had done. So I’m excited and hopeful that my husband and I are now planning to go see them as well!"

"Just got to Dallas from out of state for the Thanksgiving holiday, and was wanting to see a chiropractor as soon as possible since I wasn’t able to get adjusted before I left my hometown!
Dropped in this afternoon to see Dr. MacIver and just wanted to say WOW! Thank you guys SO much for fitting me in. The service was top quality — front office manager was very sweet, I was able to be seen in a moments notice, the appointment was efficient and quick, and the Doc. was super kind. Already feeling a lot of tension release after my adjustment, and I know I’ll be able to face the weekend with a boosted immune system too.
